SOUND SCHOOL COURSES AT FOOTSCRAY ARTS

In 2018 Sound School is delivering four free 8-week courses in Ableton, DJing, synthesizers, and sound engineering. We had an overwhelming response from the community, with over 400 applications for the program. Each program features guest facilitators, a broad range of equipment and genre-specific teaching, field trips, and performance opportunities. This project has been made possible by the Australia Council for the Arts and Footscray Community Arts Centre.

SYNTH SCHOOL

Participants learn the ins and outs of analogue and digital synthesis, drum machines, sampling, effects and looping, circuit bending, and build their own single-oscillator synthesizer.

DJ SCHOOL

Participants learn the techniques of Serato, CDJs, and vinyl, and record a B2B mix - listen to it here
