Sound School and Liquid Architecture present KLEIN, in discussion with MAKEDA and SEZZO SNOT.
This event prioritises entry to people of colour and Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people. Non POC and Indigenous folk please wait for general release tickets.
South London based musician Klein, currently signed to celebrated label Hyperdub, is an artist whose neoteric vision has seen her quickly become one of the UK’s most intriguing and unpinnable producers and performers. With themes of vulnerability, sisterhood and death, her often playful and restive approach to composition is instantly alluring. Distant piano loops lurk in the haze whilst beguiling vocals fade in and out of the sensory world of her own creation. Using open source software Audacity, her live voice and piano playing is filtered through hyper glitchy and looped production; cutting from angular atonality to pockets of skewered harmony.
Sound School is a community organisation delivering electronic music workshops that celebrate and upskill emerging artists on the margins. Sound School is proud to collaborate with Liquid Architecture to present the ideas and techniques of artists from international communities in our inclusive and experimental workshop series.
Klein's Q&A hosted by SEZZO SNOT and Makeda will follow her performance at PRECOG, co-commissioned by Liquid Architecture and Next Wave.
Siteworks is a wheelchair accessible venue. Please contact us if you have any questions about accessibility. We acknowledge that this event will take place on the lands of the Wurundjeri peoples of the Kulin nations and pay our respects to elders past, present, and emerging. We acknowledge that genocide is ongoing and that sovereignty was never ceded.
