What will be covered in the workshops?
In this workshop series, you will dive into post-production with Ableton Live. These workshops will cover some philosophy of mixing, mixing preparation, EQ, compression, distortion and time-based effects, and a short introduction to mastering. The workshops are designed for enthusiasts who have completed a track in Ableton Live and want to explore mixing and mastering. These workshops aim to demystify the post-production process in an open and inclusive learning environment.
Who are the workshops for?
If you’ve been making and recording music, alone or with a band, and you want to get into mixing this music yourself through Ableton Live, this workshop series is for you. Melbourne Sound School facilitators will run you through the core concepts of mixing in Ableton Live, step by step. Computers with the software will be provided.
This program is for beginners and no experience with music production software is required, however, basic computer skills will be needed. Please ensure you bring a track that you want to mix and master.

About the facilitator:
Tig Harutyunyan (they/them) has been developing mixing and mastering workshops for Sound School since 2018. They are an experimental noise and Armenian folk musician based in Melbourne, Australia and have produced, engineered, mixed and mastered a number of critically acclaimed albums for various bands (Horsehunter, Elbrus). Currently they are performing with their solo act Blood of a Pomegranate.
